review homework and studio exercises from Wed.
create warm/cool hue chart in class (based on monday's handout)
begin homework for Wednesday:
Klee Grid 2: utilize warm hues and glazes
Klee Grid 3: utilize cool hues and glazes
Klee Grid 4: utilize complimentary hues and glazes
protocols:
*Review the Klee links to the right as a reminder of the images shown in the Klee DVD we viewed in class.
*I will be basing your assessment on technique, progressive improvement, overall design progression and use of color. The following directives are REQUIRED:
-repetition with variation,
-rhythmic structure,
-leave a white space in each grid
-use a full sheet of paper for each grid if you have a small pad - you may use a half sheet if you have a
large pad
For Wednesday: complete first layer of color for Grid 2 and plan to complete it in class on Wednesday.
All FOUR grids (these three and today's homework) are due on the Wednesday after Labor Day.

Watercolor Studio Homework for Monday, August 30
Create 6 bands of color - each should employ two complimentary colors washed into each other. Click on the Paul Klee Gallery link to see a color wheel for reference.
Create a Syncopated Grid inspired by the work of Paul Klee. Refer to the link on the right for the best examples of his work.
Your grid should follow the following parameters:
1. fill your sheet of pape
2. use ALL colors in your color chart, creating more through the use of glazing (overlay)
3. employ Rhythm and Repetition with Variation
4. leave one square or shape white, cover all other white of the paper with color!
5. avoid bleeding as much as possible - let areas dry before working next to them or glazing over them
